When researching women’s rights in Northern Ireland, specifically more contemporary examples, I’ve came across a lot of illustrations created that show how art/fashion has been used to unify people (or for political good; I may need to change my essay question to better fit this.)

Below are some of my favourite examples, specifically targeting N.I. before abortion was decriminalised. There’s no way to prove art such as this contributes directly to the recent lift in the ban of abortion, but I think it’s common sense that they at least raise awareness and motivate in a fun, creative way. I may consider doing an illustration of my own for my zine, portraying one of the contemporary issues I plan to address.
